What we collect and why
Analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, which pages are read and where visitors come from. It is a privacy-first service: it sets no cookies, uses no localStorage, and does not fingerprint or track you across sites or across visits. Because nothing is stored on your device and no personal profile is built, no consent banner is required.
Newsletter (Beehiiv)
If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is collected and stored by Beehiiv, our newsletter platform. Beehiiv is a US-based company. The data is processed under a data processing agreement between us and Beehiiv, and is governed by Beehiiv's privacy policy.
We use your email address to send the newsletter. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. Beehiiv tracks email open and click rates using a tracking pixel embedded in emails; this tells us how readers engage with issues as a whole, not what individual links you click to outside sources.
Our lawful basis is consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the foot of any issue.
The Discount Finder
The Finder runs entirely in your browser. Your answers are never sent to us or to anyone else, and we do not store them.
What we do not collect
We do not collect names unless you include one in an email to us. We do not run advertising networks. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
Cookies summary
This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no cookie-based analytics. Beehiiv may set cookies if you interact with the newsletter signup form; subscribing is entirely optional. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and the site will work normally.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to data portability where applicable. In practice, the only personal data we hold is a newsletter email address. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the contact page. We will respond within 30 days.
For data held by Beehiiv, use the unsubscribe link in any email or contact Beehiiv directly.
Retention
Aggregate analytics are retained by Cloudflare per its standard retention. Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe, after which Beehiiv's standard deletion process applies.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not retroactively reduce your rights without notice.
